India G20 Presidency: India is hosting the G-20 conference to be held this year. G-20 chief coordinator Harsh Vardhan Shringla said on Monday that at a time of rising geopolitical tensions and economic crisis, India’s presidency of the forum is a big opportunity to shape the global agenda. Shringla said that the motto of India’s G-20 approach is in line with the idea of ’Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Prayas’.
Harshvardhan said, “If our neighbors do not develop, we cannot develop separately.” We cannot expect prosperity without ensuring that our neighbors are also a part of this progress, he said. The Chief Coordinator said that now let’s come to the big question of G-20. What can we do in terms of solving the mounting debt issues of countries around the world? I think our thinking and priority will be reforming multilateral institutions.
Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is the theme
Former Foreign Secretary Shringla was addressing the G-20 Presidency’s ‘University-Connect Engaging Young Minds Programme’ at the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. Shringla said that it is a unique opportunity for us to get the chairmanship of G-20. We can put our tradition on the global agenda. We can also use it to showcase our cultural diversity, our tourism potential.
Many programs related to the G-20 summit will be organized in the capital of India, Delhi in March, June and September 2023. G-20 was formed in 2008 after the economic instability in the world, which includes 19 countries including the European Union. This time its command has been handed over to India from Indonesia, whose theme is India’s identity “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”. One earth one family one future has been kept.
